It’s been a little over a month since America elected Donald Trump to be our next president. Despite what Democrats warned, the world did not end.
In fact, world leaders have been optimistic about the new president elect. For the first time since Trump’s election, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke publicly about Donald Trump.
In an interview with 60 Minutes, Netanyahu said he’s never been as hopeful about Israel’s place in the world than he is now and that he welcomes the presidency of Donald Trump.
“I know him very well,” Netanyahu said. “And I think his attitude, his support for Israel is very clear. He feels very warmly about the Jewish state, about the Jewish people and about Jewish people. There’s no question about that.”
Netanyahu would never be able to give the same type of compliment to President Obama. The personal relationship between Obama and Netanyahu has been, by most accounts, the worst ever between an American president and an Israeli prime minister
Netanyahu’s admiration for Trump seems to be echoed throughout Israel as well. A recent poll conducted by the Dialog polling firm, showed a stunning 83 percent of Israelis view Trump as pro-Israel.
Democrats attempted to paint Trump and his administration as “Anti-Semitic”, but Trump has only had wonderful things to say about the Jewish people.
Israel can feel safe knowing that this January they will FINALLY have a U.S president who wants to work with them and not against them.
